Don’t Chase Money—Chase Passion, and the Money Will Follow

This is a lesson I’ve learned from my dad and from personal experience.

When I first started my business, a client approached me for a logo with a £200 budget. At the time, this was the highest offer I had ever received, and I was over the moon. But something in me felt that £200 wasn’t enough, so I tried negotiating for more.

That was a huge mistake.

After a bit of back and forth, the client decided not to work with me, saying my pricing was too high. At that moment, I had a realization—chasing money can actually push opportunities away.

I spoke to my dad about it, and he gave me advice that has stuck with me:

“Don’t chase money. Chase your dreams and passion, and the money will come.”

Since then, I’ve shifted my mindset. Success isn’t about constantly chasing cash—it’s about focusing on what you love, improving your craft, and delivering real value. When you do that, the right opportunities will come naturally.

Lesson learned: Focus on your passion, and the money will take care of itself.
