“How far would you go for one piece of advice? I went all the way... Here’s what happened...

“How far would you go for one piece of advice? I went all the way… Here’s what happened…”

One day, I was scrolling through my emails when I came across something unexpected in Simon Squibb’s newsletter. He shared his personal number with his subscribers and invited entrepreneurs to call him for advice. The message felt like an opportunity I couldn’t miss. So, I decided to give it a shot.

I dialed the number.

Once… voicemail.

Twice… voicemail again.

Then, 77 attempts later, I finally heard:

“Hello, Simon speaking. How can I help?”

I couldn’t believe it. Simon Squibb, the guy with decades of business knowledge, was actually on the other end of the line. I introduced myself, a bit nervous:

“Hi, I’m Yousaf, 15 years old, from Manchester, and I run a graphic design company”

I asked him how to get my business more visibility. His answer was simple:

“Stay consistent. Keep posting on social media and be active on everywhere.”

That one minute taught me something powerful: don’t be afraid to reach out. You’ll never know what’s possible unless you take that first step. I could have hesitated, assuming I wouldn’t get through or that it wouldn’t lead anywhere, but I didn’t. And in that moment, I realized that sometimes, the only thing holding you back is yourself.

reaching out and putting yourself out there can open doors you never expected. It’s about stepping outside your comfort zone and seeking advice, connections, and opportunities. Sometimes, all it takes is one call or one email to change the course of your journey.

I have his contact info and plan to call him again when I feel like I need anymore advice

Lesson Learnt:

Opportunities don’t come to you unless you go after them.

Taking action, even when you’re uncertain, creates growth.

Reaching out is the first step to opening doors you never knew existed.
