This will annoy your teachers, but someone had to say it.

the System Feels Broken.

School is only good for two things: Learning how to read, write, and do basic maths. And meeting people.

Everything else feels useless. We get told what to do, have to memorise random facts, and get punished for not fitting in.

People always say, “You won’t get a good job if you fail your GCSEs.” But the real issue is that they’re only talking about jobs. Not everyone wants to work for someone else.

I’m not saying failing your GCSEs will turn you into a millionaire. And I’m not saying school is bad for everyone. If you want to be a doctor or an engineer, you need school. But if you want freedom, to build something of your own, then school feels like a cage.

I looked into it. School was created to train people to work in factories. That’s why we follow rules, stay quiet, ask for permission, and just repeat what we’re told. We’re being trained to follow — not think for ourselves.

I don’t want to disrespect teachers. Some of them really care. But the system is old and doesn’t work for everyone.

This is just my opinion. If you don’t agree, that’s fine. But don’t act like GCSEs show who someone really is. They don’t.

I’m still in school. I know it’s the law in the UK to stay in school or training until you’re 18. So I’ll do what I have to. But I know GCSEs don’t decide my future.

I’m not going to university either. People say, “It’s good experience.” But so is starting a business. They say, “You’ll make friends.” So do I, through my work. They say, “You’ll build a network.” I already do that by running a business.

I don’t need a piece of paper to prove I’m good at something. If I do good work, care about people, and know how to sell, that’s enough.

Most people focus on getting approval. I focus on giving value. If you help people, the money and trust will come.

If you’ve finished school and feel lost, here’s what I’d say: Read books. Learn skills. If you don’t know where to start, get a job. Learn on the job. Or learn online. There are free videos, courses, and now there’s AI. Use Google. Use ChatGPT. Learn everything you can.

And don’t let anyone tell you your worth. Not a teacher. Not a stranger. Not Anne from Tesco.

Be smart. Be kind. Be strong. But don’t be average.
